Mission
Our mission: LOVING GOD. LOVING OTHERS
Enough said. It would be foolish for us to come up with language when Christ has succinctly provided it for us:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. and love your neighbor as yourself.
(Matthew 22:37,39)
The Pillars
The following four pillars are things you can count on - things that shape how we do
ministry - things that will uniquely support the mission that God has given Mountain Park.
- We will be a safe place to visit and a dangerous place to stay.
Mountain Park is a safe place for you and a safe place for you to invite your friends.
You will not be judged here. You will not be categorized. We recognize that all of us
are wounded and in need of God's grace and forgiveness. But if you stick around, the
Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit will radically change your life! Living "dangerously"
doesn't mean living awfully - it means living fully. It means realizing how important
you are in God's plans.
- We will fight for the health, growth and vitality of families.
Families in our community and in our church are suffering. There's something about how
we do life here in the Valley that makes it particularly hard for families to stay
together and stay healthy. It is not OK for us to serve our community - for us to
change the world - while our families are falling apart. Therefore, we are committed
to being a place where you can grow as a husband, wife, parent, child or sibling.
- We will embrace the Greater Story and each person's role in it.
The "Greater Story" refers to the grand epic of life (see "Epic" by John Eldredge). Our
lives are not isolated experiences - they are part of a larger story that is introduced
in the Old Testament, that climaxes in the person and passion of Jesus Christ, and that
flows from the New Testament into our current experience. We are committed to studying
scripture, learning this story, and embracing our role in it.
- We will serve and reflect the mosaic of our community.
Mountain Park is a place where every person matters - regardless of age, gender, race,
or religious background. We will creatively and radically serve the people God puts in
our path.

Church of God, Anderson, IN
Mountain Park is a Church of God congregation. This means we are connected with and accountable to something bigger than ourselves. Fortunately, the Church of God allows its churches to be governed independently. So we also have the freedom to pursue the vision that God has uniquely called us to.
