Last week we considered what it would have been like to be one of the twelve disciples that Jesus invited to follow him. They were all Jewish. They had access to the stories of the struggles of their people. They had access to the scriptures that spoke of a coming Messiah. And they had access to the reality of being ruled by Rome. Here in 2012, our own history as a nation and as individuals greatly shapes our response to the invitation to follow him. What we have access to greatly shapes the condition of our hearts. What is the condition of your heart as you’re faced with the DECISION to follow Jesus?
