Jon grew up attending Mountain Park for the majority of his early years. After being away for several years he returned in the fall of 2008 after being asked to play guitar on Sundays. Since that point in time he has begun working with our Student Union, leading worship for our middle schoolers and high schoolers each week. "I love the opportunities that I have been given here especially any chance I have in leading worship."

You’ve been given $100 to spend in the $1 store. What do you buy?
If I had 100 dollars to spend at the dollar store I would for sure buy whatever groceries I could. My pantry is almost exclusively empty.. so I would buy food! Like 50 Gatorades for sure.

Did you ever think you’d have a beard at this point in your life?
Growing up I never really thought about my future facial hair nor do I regularly think about it now.

What do you appreciate about Jesus now that you didn’t 10 years ago?
I appreciate His grace and acceptance. I think 10 years ago I had a very narrow minded view of who Jesus really was. He's not just a taskmaster or a prison guard... He is someone who loves me unconditionally and accepts me for who I am.

What’s the greatest thing about working with students?
The greatest thing about working with students is watching them embrace their relationship with Christ and make it their own. There is a great switch that gets flipped when it becomes less about habit and "because thats what your supposed to do" and more about a relationship and "thats what I want to do".
