Benevolence

Caring for Our Church Family with Compassion and Integrity

Extending Compassion. Living Generously.

At Mountain Park, we believe we’re better together and that includes showing up for each other in times of need. Our Benevolence Ministry exists to provide short-term financial assistance for those in our church family who are experiencing unexpected hardship.

If you’re walking through a tough season, we want to support you in a way that honors your dignity and reflects the heart of Jesus.

Who Can Apply?
Who Can Apply?

To help us steward resources wisely and relationally, benevolence assistance is available to those who:

  • Regularly attend Mountain Park Church

  • Are actively part of a Life Group and/or serving on a ministry team

  • Have a history of generosity through regular giving

  • Can provide an endorsement from a group or ministry leader and a pastor who knows your situation

  • Our heart is to walk with people in times of genuine need while also caring responsibly for the needs of the whole church family. For this reason, each household may submit one benevolence application per year for review. Following that review, further requests must wait until the next calendar year.

What Happens Next?
What Happens Next?

Once your application is submitted:

  1. Our Benevolence Board will review it, typically within a week (excluding holidays).

  2. We may contact the leaders listed in your application for insight and support.

  3. After a decision is made, our Benevolence Board will follow up with you directly.

  4. If assistance is approved, it may take up to seven business days for distribution.

  5. We ask that you prayerfully consider reimbursing the assistance, if you are able, once your financial situation improves.

Please note: All assistance is paid directly to vendors (e.g., utility companies, landlords). Personal checks will not be issued. A Social Security number is required for IRS reporting purposes, as benevolence is considered reportable income.
